BHR Papalia are proud to partner with numerous local businesses who are excelling in their industries and making an impact on their communities. This month we are spotlighting Hera Support, a local organisation providing support coordination to clients in the South West of WA who are wanting to access and utilise the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We spoke to Operations Manager Aishath Shizleen to hear about how Hera Support began, and how important the people of their community are in the work they are doing.
Tell us about the journey of Hera Support thus far?
Hera Support is an organisation that came into being from a few like-minded community members who wanted to provide a holistic support coordination service in the South West Community. Until now, we have been focussing on getting Hera set-up; taking the appropriate steps so that we can be a registered provider; making sure that we meet all of the rules and regulation around being a registered NDIS provider; and of course looking after our current portfolio of clients.
How has the reception been amongst the community?
The reception has been overwhelmingly positive. I think the key is that we are providing a service that’s small, local, and community minded. We are coming from a set of principles that a lot of people can relate to. Being in the community and understanding the importance of holistic needs rather than just looking at people as boxes and connecting them with services is what makes Hera stand apart. We are committed to taking that extra step and truly caring for our clients and their needs, and our authenticity has meant that we have been well-received in the community.
What does BHR do for you?
BHR looks after all of our accounting and bookkeeping. The team work hard at making sure that we are always audit-ready, and that we are doing all of the right things financially. BHR provides us with the advice and service that we need in order to succeed as an organisation, and continue to provide our services to the community.
What are you most looking forward to with HERA in the upcoming six months?
We are looking forward to growing the business with the same level of quality and standards that we have become known for. Our clients are always our primary focus. We will be focussing on expanding our work whilst continuing to prioritise the people in our community, and keeping our level of service high.
