Magdaleen Grimbeek with the Melo Velo team.
BHR Papalia are proud to partner with numerous local businesses who are excelling in their industries and making an impact on their communities. This month we would like to spotlight Melo Velo, a hub of activity where you can buy a bike, a coffee and a piece of cake – and get connected with a community that values health, sustainability, friendship and learning!
Tell us a bit about your business?
Melo Velo owner Magdaleen Grimbeek comes from a family of keen cyclists, who are passionate about health, sustainability and community. Melo Velo was a business that came about step by step – starting with the purchase of City Cycles, a Bunbury business which had been around for more than thirty years, and then the purchase of their current premises.
“Once we bought the building we were able to do what we wanted to,” Magdaleen said.
“We wanted to make something new and happy. We always had the intention of making this a place where there is community, friendships and learning. It’s a hub for people to come and talk, learn, meet, and embrace healthy and sustainable living – not a cold square retail space.”
