Hugh McDonnell has been with BHR Papalia for 18 years as a certified practising accountant, and as a Director since 2002.
Prior to joining BHR Papalia in 1999, Hugh worked as a management and company accountant in the areas of primary production, manufacturing and construction.
Hugh places a strong emphasis on working closely with clients to allow the provision of financial management and business development services. Hugh’s capacity as external CFO for a number of our clients assists with business growth opportunities, cashflow management and strategic planning.
Hugh is a life member of the Bunbury Rowing Club, having been active in the club since 1986. He enjoys road cycling and has participated in several long-distance rides in Australia and New Zealand. Another interest has been in participating in long distance motorbike trips with the charity Bright Blue, in both Australia and Mongolia.
Kiko Willers has been with BHR Papalia since August 2014.
Kiko has been in public practice since graduation in 2010. He specialises in client management, relationship building, business advisory, new business setups, tax advisory, team management and resourcing, system and procedure improvements, financial reporting, tax returns, and quality control.
When he’s not at work, Kiko enjoys spending time with his growing family and their dog Max, as well as classic cars, gardening and technology.
Justin holds a Bachelor of Business Degree and is a Certified Practising Accountant.
After many years with a local accounting firm, Justin joined BHR Papalia in 2009 and became a Director in 2010. He ensures our dedicated team of accountants maintain the highest professional standards.
Justin is passionate about simplifying processes to reduce the burden imposed on clients attending to their accounting and taxation obligations. His focus on business development ensures he works closely with clients to identify areas of improvement.
Justin has represented Australia in softball and is also involved with a number of local sporting associations as a player, coach and administrator. Justin and his wife Sheryn have three very energetic young boys, and believe in a balance between work and family life.
Brian Hotker has been part of the team since 1995. Brian supports Justin in his role as Managing Director, mentors younger team members, and oversees BHR Papalia’s Self-Managed Superannuation Fund section.
Brian previously worked in the farm machinery industry and banking, before spending seven years learning the ropes of accountancy with SJ Morgan and Co in Albany.
When he’s not at work, Brian enjoys spending time with his seven grandchildren and drag racing a motorcycle - with some small successes along the way.
Senior Accountant (FTNAA)
Dom has been an integral part of the BHR Papalia family since 1989, alongside his brother and founder of the company, Joe Papalia. He is a Fellow of the National Tax Agents Association Ltd.
Dom leads the small taxation and compliance team and provides mentoring and training to many of the firm’s younger team members. Thanks to his empathetic ear and sound advice, Dom is widely respected by both colleagues and clients.
Dom loves nothing more than spending quality time with his family and grandchildren. He is in transition to retirement and now works three days a week.
Vicki Wilson has been with BHR Papalia for six years, providing business and tax advice to clients.
A long-standing employee of EB Taylor & Associates for 24 years until the merger with BHR Papalia in 2011, Vicki holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Certified Practising Accountant. Having grown up in the Wheatbelt, Vicki has spent her working life in public practice in rural Western Australia. She enjoys providing assistance and support to her loyal clients and creating simple solutions to the ever-changing nature of the accounting industry.
Vicki was previously involved in the Bunbury Tennis Club. She now enjoys a good book, attending shows at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre or catching up on her Netflix shows.
Reon Tither has been at BHR Papalia since 2013, he is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and providing solid, practical business and taxation advice.
Reon brings extensive experience working with accounting firms in New Zealand and regional WA. At BHR Papalia he enjoys working with clients to simplify their business and accounting processes and developing a pathway for the growth of their business. A strong focus is placed on a work-life balance.
He completed a Double Major at the University of Otago in Accounting and Marketing.
When he’s not at work, Reon continues a strong family tradition in the horse racing industry and also enjoys playing cricket for the Hay Park Redbacks.
Lindzee-Kate Blackburn has been with BHR Papalia since 2012. She assists a range of clients with SMSFs, business accounting and individual tax returns.
She completed her Bachelor of Business with a Major in Accounting and Public Practice at Edith Cowan University in Bunbury in 2012, and completed her CPA in 2017. She is now working towards SMSF specialist designation.
When she’s not at work, Lindzee-Kate enjoys exercise, running, the gym, shooting, and just being outdoors.
Kiel Jackson has been an Accountant with BHR Papalia since 2007.
Kiel works within the taxation and compliance team, specialising in year-end compliance and monthly / quarterly GST for small to medium businesses.
He gained a Bachelor of Business, with a major in accounting, in 2016.
When he’s not at work, Kiel loves to play volleyball, badminton, and golf.
Liina Kalmet has been with BHR Papalia since May 2015. Committed to providing high quality services, she helps clients meet their compliance obligations and identify ways to add value. She prepares tax returns and financial statements for individuals through to small businesses.
A productive and supportive member of the team, Liina shares her knowledge and is passionate about learning and contributing to a strong, collaborative and focused team culture.
Tertiary qualifications in banking and finance provided Liina with a solid foundation for her professional experience in working as an accountant for a multinational European bank group before starting with BHR. Now she is well on her way to becoming a Certified Practising Accountant.
When she is not at work, Liina enjoys photography, computer-aided drafting and building her vintage camera collection.
Sharon Johnson has been with BHR Papalia since 2013.
Sharon has spent more than 30 years providing assistant accountant/bookkeeping and office management in various industries. A certified Xero Adviser and experienced in a range of accounting applications such as MYOB and Quicken, Sharon runs a streamlined and efficient office.
Outside of work she enjoys motorbike riding, reading and gardening.
Nichelle Byfield Bookkeeper
Nichelle Byfield has been with BHR Papalia since February 2015.
With a professional background in retail management, banking and business service, she provides bookkeeping services to a range of clients.
When she’s not at work, Nichelle loves reading, kayaking, orienteering and spending time with her boys.
Lara Procter has been with BHR Papalia since 2014. She has more than ten years of experience in bookkeeping for local small businesses and customer service, and now provides support to team members and clients in all bookkeeping services.
When she’s not at work, Lara enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
Jade has been the Director of First Impressions since 2008, but now occupies a pivotal administration role.
She attends to the corporate secretarial duties of our clients as well as helping out the team. She enjoys reading, watching scary movies and tv shows, and has a daughter who keeps her on her toes.
Jackie joined BHR Papalia in December 2017.
As part of the bookkeeping team, Jackie supports other team members and provides bookkeeping services to clients. Jackie previously had 15 years experience in a local accounting firm, working in administration and attending to corporate secretarial duties, along with five years in the banking and sales industry providing customer service.
When she is not at work, Jackie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping and scrapbooking.
